We have just updated our website, giving it a fresh new look. Hope you find it much simpler to use!
St. Martin’s is a relevant and lively church, with two morning services each Sunday. There is a 9:30am Traditional Communion service as well as the 11:00am Modern Worship Service with a Sunday Club (for those up to 14yrs). The evening service is every second Sunday of the month, called Word and Worship at 7pm which is a contemporary relaxed service. We are a Church that promotes New Wine, both attending and hosting New Wine events.
We also have Messy Church the first Sunday of the month at 3.30pm – ideal for families and includes crafts, games and grub!
St. Martin’s seeks God’s vision for the ministry here in Seamer, Crossgates and Irton. We are seeking to share the message of Jesus with our community because Jesus makes the difference! We believe that Jesus is the Son of God and came to transform and open the way so that we can live knowing the one true God on earth now and this is reflected in our worship. We preach the Bible and move in the power of His Spirit.
There are many social events to join in with and also Life Groups to join (small groups, meeting twice a month for discipleship, fellowship and mission). We take prayer seriously, with many opportunities for prayer ministry and 7.30pm every Wednesday we meet to pray.
For Baptisms please attend any of the above Sunday services, we ask you to attend at least twice before booking a baptism (last Sunday of month at 9.30am and first Sunday at 11am, we don’t do baptisms outside these services). We do hope you will come as often as possible before the baptism and also consider attending at least once a month afterwards. You will also have a two hour baptism preparation evening. Adults wishing to be baptised must attend church regularly and also attend a seeker course (Start or Alpha).
For weddings please contact Laura, the Vicar on revlaurajane@yahoo.co.uk.
To have a look at what we’re up to, visit the Services page and “What’s Happening?” page – you’re welcome to come to any of these, however some of the events do require booking beforehand, such as the New Wine events. Do visit the ‘About Us’ page, too, to see who we are, what we’re doing, where we are, and more! The New Link page contains three or four articles as a ‘taster’ from our monthly magazine. To get more articles, please email us, or grab a copy from the Church.
Please check back regularly, as the site is constantly being updated as new material is available.
We hope you like the new look website – it was made with you in mind! If you have any advice about the look of the website, or any questions about the content or how to navigate, email stmartins.seamer@gmail.com.
Every Blessing.
